Sensodyne - Pronamel Toothpaste Review from Mountain View, California

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I used the pronamel for the first time and when i began to eat I noticed mouth pain. I continued to eat (french fries) and could barely chew them because of the pressure and pain in my teeth and gums.

I dont know how I figured, but i had a feeling it was the "New and improved" toothpaste. So i brushed my teeth 2 times about 2 hours apart with crest and it felt much better after the last brush.

Now, which is the day after, i have brushed my teeth twice with crest and I barely feel any pain. I am however, nervous about eating anything bc i dont want to feel that agonizing pain.

Me too! I could not figure it out what was causing my irritation and then remembered I switched toothpaste to Sensodyne toothpaste, Wish I wouldn’t have. Pretty bad trying to get relief and then get 100% worse from the product.

I started using Sensodyne Complete in late Aug. My mouth felt like it had been scalded.

I developed blisters on the inside of my gums and lips and sores on my tongue. I have been miserable for 2 months. I didn't make the connection to the toothpaste (I have used a different formula Sensodyne before) until I went away for a week and didn't use it. My mouth healed the week I was on vacation.

But, less than 24 hours of returning home and using Sensodyne Complete, my mouth was sore again. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!!!

Pure scam

Sensodyne toothpaste cost 2¼x more than any other tooth paste. They contain less tooth paste in the tube, and the tube is smaller than other ones.

The effect of sensodyme is the same of any other tooth paste.

Nothing's worth being scammed. Do not buy sensodyne. It's not worthing your money.

I use Crest sensitive teeth, and it's totally working. My dentist told me to use Crest or Sensodine. I decided to use Crest, and one day i decided to buy sensodine. When I realized the cost and the fact that it's not better than anything else... I feel scammed.

I agree. I use AIM and it has relived my sensitivity at only 1 dollar a large tube, God bless the maker of AIM.

Sensodyne pronamel TUBE is too rigid, wasting product!

I would sincerely like someone from Pronamel (GlaxoSmithKline is not responding, even though we've tried numerous times)! We use this product all the time now, due to sensitivity issues. HOWEVER,

THE TUBE IS TOO RIGID, MAKING IT TOO HARD TO SQUEEZE OUT PRODUCT and YOU CAN'T ROLL IT UP AT THE BOTTOM LIKE ALL OTHER TOOTHPASTE TUBES. This continually results in product being wasted & tossed out, unless you cut the tube open to get out the remaining toothpaste! The cap is difficult to get on & off!

PLEASE, WHY CAN'T YOU MAKE THE TUBE JUST LIKE ALL OTHER TOOTHPASTE TUBES? Seriously, because of the wasted product & the HARD TO SQUEEZE TUBE, we will be looking for another 'sensitive care toothpaste', unless you are able to change the design of yours (we really like your product best, but can't justify the waste of toothpaste because the tube is too hard to squeeze it all out).

It claims to reduce the pain of sensitive teeth but, it made my teeth and nerves hurt even more. It wasn't even a big problem to begin with, just slight sensitivity. But as soon as I used this toothpaste the pain increased immediately on the 3rd day of use. I realised that this toothpaste was the cause and I am not happy about this. Do you know that you are potentially giving consumers irreparable damage? Sensodyne ought to either take it off the shelf or remove its claim of being a reliable toothpaste.

Sensodyne - Pronamel Toothpaste Review from Penn Yan, New York

In November my periodontist recommended sensorineural proenamal for sensitive teeth. For December I purchased 2 tubes at Walgreens for $11.00.

Two days before Christmas I started to get a sore throat and a pain in my neck. I have had pressure issues with a tooth with a root canal and cap prior. I went to the doctor due to pain and lack of sleep on Christmas Eve. I was diagnosed with Trush and given a prescription to care for the fungal infection.

I was told that due to an antibiotic which I have taken was for the last 4 years caused the bacteria fungus?

I stopped using sensodine and I am back to normal. I'm wondering if sensodine caused the fungal or pain.

Burns

I used Sensodyne complete care for 3 days, I noticed the first time it left a strange tingling feeling but I thought it was from the mint but by the morning of the third day it went from a tingle to full on burning of my lips and gums. That evening I noticed blister like ulcers on my gums and my lips are burned inside and out.

The next morning the skin on the inside of my lips sloughed off and I have blisters/ulcers on the inside and outside of my lips plus on my gums.

Even after two days of not using sensodyne I am still in a lot of pain and my lips are constantly tingling from the burns. DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT it is dangerous.

Negative expierience with sensodyne

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I have used Sensodyne tooth paste pro enamel for about 2 weeks and expierienced tooth pain, burnt tongue, and dry mouth. I am extremely dissatisfied and would not use again. After not having good enough insurance to see a dentist, I have been told by a medical doctor to try this type of toothpaste. I was again extremely dissatisfied by the effects of the tooth paste and would not recommend use. Aside from tooth pain, burnt tongue, and dry mouth I also experienced nausea, ulcers, and headaches. Again this is one of the worst toothpastes I have tried and would not recommend this to anyone suffering from sensitive teeth.

Sore throat

I started using Sensodyne about 2 weeks ago and for the past week I have had what felt like heartburn. Thinking it was just something I was eating I would take Tums or even Zantac and it wouldn't make it go away.

After racking my brain I finally thought about the toothpaste. I thought it was heartburn but its more of a burning sensation in my throat and in the back of my mouth. Which feels very similar to heartburn.

This morning I did not have the burning feeling but after brushing my teeth there it was again!

After reading all of these complaints this toothpaste is going in the trash!

Took me 4 months to figure it out. Sensodyne toothpaste is causing burning/ sore throat. Stopped use and sore throat ceased almost immediately.

Guest

Same here. Constant tingling burning sensation at the back of throat.

Thought it was something more serious but realised it was the toothpaste.

The Sensodyne toothpaste does a have a warming sensation when you initiallly place it in your mouth to brush your teeth. So obviously its some residue of whatever chemical that's in the toothpaste thats causing this problem.

I had the heartburn, sore throat, mouth blisters, and a giant lump in my tongue. I was referred to an oral surgeon who wants to remove the lump.

I told him I wanted to wait and see if the lump recedes.

It has receded a bit so at least the cancer scare is gone. Still have a fair amount of throat pain after three weeks but hope it resolves.

I recently purchased a tube of sensodyne repair and protect. Initially, I did not have any reaction to this toothpaste but, after a few days I have noticed some tingling and burning in the mouth.

I didn't think much of it til one day my lips were swollen and I had gotten 2 ulcers.

I am extremely disappointed at the manufacturers of this toothpaste. I'm baffled at how a product that causes so much harm than good can be on the market.

Guest

Wow, I have been using Sensodyne Rapid for about 8 months now, been having constant burning sensation in my throat, throbbing sensation in my throat, choke when I brush, sore throats, constantly clearing my, you name it.. been to the ENT a thousand times but they keep saying throat is Ok. I'm going to change this tooth paste today, crossing my finger and hoping the pain goes away.

I was having the same problem (sore throat) and finally linked it to using the Sensodyne Rapid as well. It took me almost 2 months of sore throats, antibiotics, allergy medications and different lozenges before running out of Sensodyne toothpaste and using another brand that the sore throat stopped. There is something in the ingredients that is not healthy for oral use and the manufacturer needs to look into it before it seriously harms someone permanently.

Used sensodyne for 5 months not realizing that is why my throat was sore, burning and throbbing. Went to ENT, had a ultrasound of my neck.

They wanted to do a swallow study too but I said no. Last week I quit using sensodyne and now no more issues.

Why couldn't the ENT suggest to try a different toothpast, instead of expensive procedures. WHY!

I started using Sensodyne complete about four months ago and no problem. I noticed eventually a soreness in my mouth and switched back to Crest with relief.

Then I used the Sendodyne for another few days and my mouth is full of sores, extreme sensitivity and jaw pain on one side. I have an appointment to see my dentist but I believe it is this toothpaste.

Sounds funny but I love walnuts and it seems when I've had the nuts while using Sendodyne, the problem is worse. I will never use this product again and will also report to this to the FDA.

First of all, your cap lock is stuck in the "on" position. Best correct this as it indicates a child typing and not an adult.

Secondly, the active ingredient in all of the "sensitive" toothpastes is potassium nitrate, usually 5%. You are much better off buying the house brand of a product labeled sensitive and with the taste/flavor you like. Buying the brand name products like Sensodyne, Crest, etc. is a waste of money.

In the situation you refer to, they obviously had a problem at the plant with quality control.

Contact them via email and they will problably send you a coupon. And, take care of that cap lock problem!
