I Don't Buy Their Ads - Poor Casting As Dentist

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
The woman or girl who appears as a dentist in their ads looks underage and totally not credible. What kind of poor casting is this? The product itself is not wonderful, either. I am surprised at the company for doing this. They should no better. The ad is a turnoff, literally and immediately.

I hate their commercial

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I am in advertising, and watch lots of TV ads. Sensodyne is the only ad I mute. Its terrible! The dentists monotone voice is so annoying. I have dental issues, but I would never buy products from a company with such annoying commercials.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
My grand daughters new teeth are very sensitive. Because Sensidyne was so affective for my sensitivity I bought a tube for her at home and at grandmas house. She likes it because it helps bit I think you need to tap into the kid market with flavors children would like. Just an idea!

Chronic cough for ten years

I started using Sensodyne in 2012. I had dental work done, and my dentist gave me some to use.

Shortly after I started coughing and for what ever reason I did not relate the two. After years of doctors and test and thousands of dollars spent, I have been diagnosed with everything from asthma to stress or the coughing was in my mind. Years of asthma meds, acid reflux meds. CT scans of my lungs, 4 esophagus scopes, I finally figured it out.

I got Covid over New Years. While having Covid for 3 days, my husband asked me if I realized I was not coughing. I did not realize it, but my response to him was I have been so sick that I have not even brushed my teeth. Which I am a person that bushes my teeth religiously.

Then I realized it had to be the toothpaste. Since December 28th, 2021 I have not coughed or had an attack from smells taking my breath. If I smelled something as simple as chocolate, it would take my breath and put me in an uncontrollable coughing spell. I no longer feel like I have an elephant sitting on my chest.

As of today, I feel like a different person. There has to be more customers out there that have the same issue and if so I would love to hear from you.

Poor Quality, Small Quantity, May cause injury

I have noticed the quantity of toothpaste in each tube has gotten smaller, and too much liquid is in the paste. Is it water?

Who knows. I have been using Sensodyne for many years. It used to be with other toothpastes that I used in the past, that I would automatically put my toothbrush with toothpaste under a running stream of water to moisten the toothpaste. But Sensodyne has gotten so watery that I suspect them of purposely adding an excessive amount of water to lessen the amount of product per tube, saving them a ton of money!

I probably wouldn't be complaining if not for the fact that I feel GSK is ripping me off.

The new 3.4 oz. tube of watery toothpaste appears to be almost travel size.

Also, I have been complaining to my husband that my tongue and the tip of my tongue feels sore for no apparent reason. I decided to check online if there were any similar complaints about the change in quality and quantity, and instead I found that most complaints have been from others that have been experiencing sores or ulcers. That was a surprise.

I never suspected that it could be the toothpaste that is causing the problems with my tongue issue.

I was planning on calling the company to complain, but rather than waste my time I have decided to try a different brand of toothpaste.

Maybe I will do both. If we don't complain then how can we expect change!

Packaging complaint

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I switched to Sensodyne Pronamel 1 year ago only to find the packaging made the product very expensive, the tubes would crack and the paste would come out of the sides. It was impossible to save the paste so I had to throw it away, this is the second tube to do this.

Adverse reaction to Sensodyne

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

It began with a sensitive tooth so I went to the dentist to get it checked out, after having an xray my dentist said the root and filling were fine and the sensitivity was probably due to some gum recession around the tooth. I was advised to use Sensodyne Sensitive Rapid Relief toothpaste and to also rub a small amount on the tooth around the gum line.

After a couple of days the inside of my cheek felt very raw and sore, so I stopped using it. When I went back to the dentist the hygienist gave me some samples of Rejenerate toothpaste to trial which I did for 3 weeks and I noticed a vast improvement as this helps to minimise the sensitivity and remineralise the tooth enamel. Then I ran out so started using my old toothpaste Colgate Sensitive but by mistake one morning I used the Sensodyne and again had a reaction but this time my throat was sore my back teeth hurt and the inside of my gum was really sore when I used my electric toothbrush. I visited the pharmacy and was told me use a teaspoon of salt to a glass of slightly warm water and gargle and use as a mouthwash and go back to the dentist if the symptoms persisted.

I also purchased a tube of the Rejenerate toothpaste it cost 10 pounds but was worth every penny!! It's a miracle for the first time in weeks my mouth is comfortable and actually feels more like normal, and I have not needed to take Paracetamol which I feel I have been living on for weeks now. I must point out that I don't normally have problems with my teeth and visit the hygienist 4 times a year and the dentist twice a year. I neither drink nor smoke, so this whole episode was very worrying.

The Sensodyne product I used was positively evil, and I have now thrown away the tube and will never use it again. My advice is always stop using a product immediately if you have any reaction to it as the symptoms will only get worse.
